UNMIK to continue representing Kosovo abroad

PRISTINA, Dec 22. (Tanjug). UNMIK will continue to represent Kosovo in regional and international organisations, the Pristina daily Koha Ditore said on Sunday.

"UNMIK will remain responsible for the representation of Kosovo in some international fora and organisations," said the daily's unnamed source and added that "all invitations for the representation of Kosovo in these organisations come to UNMIK's address."

The source said that Kosovo representatives would be present in all these fora, but that UNMIK would be "Kosovo's umbrella."

Kosovo Deputy Foreign Minister Vlora Citaku said that "time when Kosovo was represented by UNMIK and the UNMIK head is over."

Citaku admitted, however, that there are difficulties with representation in some organisations, which request that countries become UN members first, which Kosovo is not.
