Tadic expresses condolences to Turkish president

BELGRADE, March 10. (Tanjug). Serbian President Boris Tadic has sent a telegram of condolences to his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul on the occasion of the devastating earthquake which struck the country two days ago and caused numerous casualties, the Serbian president's press service released in a statement on Wednesday.

“The citizens of Serbia sympathize with the people of Turkey for the victims and the material damage caused by the earthquake,” the telegram of condolences states.

At least 57 people were killed and around 100 were hurt in the strong earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter scale, which hit eastern Turkey early Monday.
