Naftogaz asking Gazprom for new gas pattern
KYIV, November 30. /UKRINFORM/. National joint stock company Naftogaz of Ukraine proposed that Russian OJSC Gazprom change the formula for the calculation of the cost of natural gas for Ukraine. No reply has come from the Russian company yet, the press service of Naftogaz reported.
“We believe that the formula for the calculation of the cost of gas, envisaged by the contract between Naftogaz of Ukraine and Gazprom, may be revised and corrected for optimization of the price of gas for Ukraine. Naftogaz has not yet received a reply to its proposals, and is continuing the negotiations,” Naftogaz of Ukraine CEO Oleh Dubyna noted.
He also informed that the price of gas imports for Ukraine in 2010 will become known in the latter half of December this year.
In Dubyna's words, the company has not yet received an official letter from Gazprom with any new formulas. “Now we are guided by forecast indicators submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers,” he said.
Earlier, Sergey Kupriyanov, an official representative of OJSC Gazprom, said the average price of gas for Ukraine in 2010 will be about USD 280 for 1,000 cubic meters.
