Ukraine, Russia to resume mass production of An-124 aircraft in 2010

KYIV, November 17. /UKRINFORM/. Ukraine and Russia will speed up work on preparations for resuming the mass production of An-124 Ruslan aircraft in 2010, Ukrainian Industry Minister Volodymyr Novytsky has said.

He said that the two countries had already started preparatory work to assess the possibility of resuming the construction of An-124 planes on a new basis, using new avionics. “This requires serious work by design bureaus, first and foremost, Antonov Design Bureau,” Novytsky said.

“We want to participate in this project,” he said.
