Ukraine satisfied with CIS summit of heads of government
KYIV, November 20. /UKRINFORM/. Ukraine is satisfied with the outcome of the Yalta CIS Summit of Heads of Government, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has said.
During a meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government, according to Tymoshenko, the parties considered more than 20 issues being crucial for the CIS member states. “First of all, we have taken stock of the work of every CIS government in combating the global financial downturn. This was extremely important, as we had a chance to exchange experience and discuss it,” the Ukrainian Premier noted.
Ukraine, she says, supports all documents that have been elaborated in order to optimize cooperation of the CIS member countries in energy sector.
In addition, signing of an agreement on a coordinated development of international transport corridors is of great importance for Ukraine, like for other countries, as Ukraine sees itself as a transit country and such development is strategically important for it, the Prime Minister underscored.
Tymoshenko also stressed the importance of signing an agreement of cooperation in innovation area and called this direction as one of the key aspects for further cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States.
